The above link is a story every Realtor, Stager, and Homeowner should be advised. This world is changing and we have to change with it in order to survive.
So, now we are selling homes in a very competetive market and should always put our best foot forward. This includes staging "vacant homes" to command a maximum sales price. So is a home with "just furniture" going to be the best choice?
Although staging is without a doubt a good choice there are also other options that may be a better choice for some. Adding a Home Manager to the impact of staging a vacant home will increase your chances of a premium price sale. Homeowners gain by saving thousands of dollars on utility bills, inflated insurance premiums and other holding costs associated with vacant houses.
It's a fact: well-furnished homes, kept in show-to-sell condition seven days a week, sell faster - and at higher prices-than vacant properties.
After viewing this clip it's a no brainer.....Showhomes works with you to stage and manage houses for maximum value, faster closings and more enthusiastic referrals. www.showhomes.com or www.showhomesstpetersburg.com

I read about this happening before. One of our AR stagers had items vanish.
Thanks Steven. We invest so much time and money into our businesses and it can be taken away within minutes.
I wonder if there is some kind of insurance that would cover personal property in this situations... I know for our residence ther is but this is a totally different scenario.
Thanks for the info Elyane. What a shame this happens, but it is better we know, so we can stay on top of it.
I hope you'll remember me if you learn of anyone moving to "The OC" and I will do the same!
Best regards.

Hi Martin,
For my business we are covered under a General Liability & Property Damage policy. This is very costly but attainable because we are a national and large company. Most stagers have high-end inventory and unique pieces that sometimes just can't be replaced. Having a Home Manager gives you piece of mind so you can sleep at night.
Thanks for your comment.
Do you want to rent my pit bull?
LOL! That Pit Bull may scare off buyers also! I know I would be running:)
Michael Caruso of the "OC" Got it... I have a partner in your area.
I did not really want to read that today, as I was in such a good mood. Wow. That is a slap of reality in the face. We professionally stage all of our listings, so the post was powerful for us to know. Thankfully, we have not been targeted....until the bad guys read my reply.....
Elayne -- the news story in your link relates what happened several months ago in the Bay Area east of San Francisco. Professional staging insurance is not very costly at just $500/yr and it's a small price to pay for peace of mind. All professional stagers should carry this type of coverage since it also includes liability up to $2 Million.
